Biography

Emma Tuohy is a Partner at Landau, Hess, Simon, Choi & Doebley. She represents businesses and individuals in a variety of immigration matters, primarily focusing on asylum and removal defense. Emma also has extensive business immigration experience, particularly with EB-1 Extraordinary Ability and EB-2 National Interest Waiver Immigrant Visa Petitions, O-1 non-immigrant visa petitions, and Conrad 30 J-1 Waiver Applications for physicians working in medically underserved areas.

Emma is an active member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) and is currently serving on the Philadelphia Chapter’s Executive Committee for a five-year term. She previously served as Chair of the New Members Division and the Chapter’s annual conference. Emma also currently serves as Secretary on the Board of the Pennsylvania Immigration and Citizenship Coalition (PICC). She earned her J.D. from Temple University Beasley School of Law in 2013 and her undergraduate degree from the College of William & Mary. During law school, Emma served as a legal intern at the Pennsylvania Innocence Project and the Pennsylvania Immigration Resource Center. She also participated in a clinical at the Nationalities Service Center, where she represented low-income individuals in immigration issues ranging from cancellation of removal to asylum to adjustment of status. After law school, Emma served as a Fellow at HIAS PA, where she gained further experience helping clients with their humanitarian immigration cases.

Emma has been invited to speak at numerous seminars and conferences, including AILA’s annual national conference. Emma has additionally co-authored articles pertaining to immigration law, including Foreign Worker-Related Issues to Spot Before Commencing a PERM Case.
